Nooks and Crannies

The light shining off the snow outside is making for the most serene setting inside my house. It also does a whole lot more for it then the unflattering yellow color from indoor lighting! I love soft neutral colors especially in a master bedroom. When you have a busy life, whether it be a high stress job, or  your a stay at home mom with two little girls who have endless amounts of energy, its nice to have somewhere calm and quiet to retreat to.

This nook seems to change constantly, but having pretty candles, a charming coffee mug, and a beautiful journal from Rifle Paper co help style it on the cheap! Its really the little things that make a space look “decorated”. I love picking up little extras when I’m shopping. I may not know where they will go,  but once I am home there’s always a place for them. However on that note you never want a space to look cluttered, so don’t go crazy! Another thing that’s great to pick up and have on hand are these faux sheepskin rugs. They look great  anywhere!

Kate from velvet leaf photography ( also my dear friend) took some professional house photos for me and I will have those up soon!
