I am not the kind of mother that always has fresh craft supplies and toys for my girls. I often go to other peoples homes and see all there neat creative activites and think to myself you need to get it together Brittany…. but then I rush through the grocery store buying the essential items on my list and either forget to grab play-dough or new coloring books or decide between the screaming and crying that it just isnt worth it today. Insert recipe for home made playdough. I’ve used this recipe three times now and love it! It works best if you use bright neon food colouring or jello to add colour.

1 cup white flour

1/2 cup salt

2 tbs cream of tartar ( found in baking isle)

1 tbsp oil

1 cup of water

Add first 4 ingredients to a saucepan, then add water and mix

Cook on medium high heat for 2-3 min or until it forms a ball and is hard to mix

Let cool and knead in food colouring or jello crystals

Thats it! So simple, they can even eat it and best of all it has ingredients you can find in your cupboard so if you bypass the craft isle but need an afternoon activity to pass some time, your good to go!
