The re-decorating bug has bit me once again. I re-arranged the furniture which led me to putting the hutch downstairs, which of course called for new pillows and a new rug was already on the way because the old one wasn’t working ( I have a rug problem, I’ll admit it),and then one day I opened up a can of white paint and painted the walls, and here we are starting anew, whew ….. have I mentioned I love decorating. My walls are my canvas and I just can’t help myself!

I’m going for a clean simple look. Our rug is from RugsUsa.com, the coffee table is from Ikea and was downstairs ( sometimes just moving your already existing furniture around can make your home feel brand new). I changed out the hardware on the coffee table, to keep it modern and help tie in the gold. This really helps update a piece for cheap cheap cheap. All the pillows are from different place around our house ( ok maybe I have a pillow problem too) but originally they are from Chapters and Homesense.  I saw these two pillows from here and here, however knowing myself and how quickly I re-arrange things I knew that price point just didn’t work for me so I made my own version. The Stripe black and white pillow is a DIY using a cheap white canvas pillow cover from Ikea (only $4!!) and a paint marker and some painters tape to tape off the lines. The confetti black and white cover was made using the same $4 white canvas cover and just making  simple dots with a paint marker. I love decor but sometimes a girls got to budget!

All my accents are white, gold and of course sea-foam green ( my fav) to keep the clean look going strong. I am still saving my dimes for some side tables to go on either end of the couch with lamps of course, but so far it’s coming along. Now to figure out what to do with that big blank wall up the stairs and my office nook 😉
