You guys I have a confession to make…. I am addicted to coffee creamer! It’s really really bad, I cannot bring myself to tell you how many cups I have a day LOADED with artificial creamer. The good new is I have had the worst cold of my life for the last 10 days, and when I am sick I hate coffee….. So I haven’t had too much for the last 10 days and I feel like I have kicked that bad habit to the curb ( YAY). Now that I am feeling better I still like my warm cup of coffee in the morning, more for cozy sake then actual NEED but I wanted to find a creamer option that still tasted good without being terrible for me!
This recipe tastes amazing and is super healthy for you.
Healthy Almond Coffee Creamer
1.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp of almond extract
2 tbs of softened coconut oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
In a bowl full of warm water soak your dates for 5 min until softened then remove pits and add to a blender with 1/2 cup of new warm water. Blend until a paste forms. Next add your remaining ingredients and continue blending for 3-5 min, until smooth. Store in an air tight container for up to 4 days.
I use a good helping of this in my coffee in the A.M and some coconut sugar to sweeten it a little more. You could also top with another sprinkling of cinnamon as well.
