I love this little guest room. It all started when I decided to paint our faux wooden wall white! I used Cloud White by Benjamin Moore but make sure to always test white on your walls as its different in every space! I then decided I wanted the colour scheme to be blue and green and went shopping for the perfect pillows for our day bed from Ikea. I found all of them except the white pom pom pillow ( H & M Home) from Home Goods ,or Homesense if you are in Canada like me. Our rug is also from Homesense but here it is in white and brown online as is the pouf and polka dot throw blanket on the blue chair ( old).
The green dresser is thrifted and cost only $40, and I super proud of it! I painted it in Lakeside Pine by Cloverdale. I didn’t have to sand it at all because the paint I used was a special blend for melamine furniture ( ask your local Cloverdale store what to use and they will provide you with the perfect paint). I kept the hardware the same because I loved what it originally came with.
Our planters were from West Elm and I painted them white ( of course), the gold lamp is from Target. For art work I needed to save some money and as this is a guest room primarily for the Girls Nanny when she comes to visit, I got them to make the art work! I made the floral paintings on the daybed wall and found some frames from Michaels Craft Store and just spray painted them blue. You can purchase similar prints by me here.
Last but not least is that beautiful sea-foam mirror that my sister in law found for me and has been waiting in her room for the perfect spot!
I am in love with how this room turned out and if you can’t find me I am usually hiding in it either reading a book or just taking in the sunshine!
