I love crisp white bedding. With spring coming I wanted to change up our bedroom in a really simple way, but one that would make it feel fresh again! I love a soft cloudy blue with neutral colours so I added touches of it to our bedding to add a subtle change to all the white.

I love how it turned out and thought I would do an updated ” Making our Bed” post for anyone who is interested. I just love learning how other people make their bed lol maybe that’s crazy, but there are so many different ways to make ones bed and I love learning how other people make theirs. One of my favourite things to do when I am in a home decor shop is to check out how they have styled their beds in their show rooms….. I’m wild and crazy I know!

Jade and I were in desperate need of a new mattress, so when Leesa® contacted me and asked if we would like to review theirs we jumped at the chance!

This mattress is AMAZING. Their 10″ luxury foam mattress comes compressed in a large box straight to your door. My sister and brother in law have had to bend mattresses in the past, just to get it up their stairs, ruining the mattress in the process. So the first thing I thought was wow this is super convenient for everyone, but especially people with small spaces that traditional mattress are problematic to move around in! I was also thrilled to not have to head off to a store and try a whole bunch out.  You have 100 nights to try your mattress out so it’s totally risk free.

And the cover on this mattress is BEAUTIFUL. I actually had a hard time covering it up lol. It is so soft and pretty. It’s also designed to stay cool when you sleep, which is a win in our house! This mattress is so comfy and it only gets more comfortable as you sleep on it. I am in love with how this mattress feels and have been sleeping better since we got it….. seriously amazing!

This mattress leans towards the “firm”category when it comes to a mattress, in my opinion. Our previous mattress was really old so it could be that I was used to a ridiculously squishy mattress before,  but this one does feel  firm to me. It still has lots of bounce and is super soft, just keep that in mind when purchasing.

Next I added soft blue striped sheets to our bed to bring in some colour.

Then I started layering. The key to a soft and fluffy bed is to layer, layer, layer.

First off I added a plain white duvet. No frills here, just simple. I also want to point out that I leave a lot of space at the top of my bed to show off those sheets. I would say leave about 1/4 of the bed with no blanket.

Then I added a ruffled white duvet to give texture and oomph.

Lastly I added a striped duvet from Ikea. I folded it in 3’s and lay it on the foot of our bed. Next some pillows to complete the look!
